Northend RISE appoints two new board members

West Palm Beach, FL, July 16, 2024 – The Northend RISE, a nonprofit working to break the cycle of inter-generational poverty in Coleman Park, announced the appointment of President & CEO Michele Jacobs of the Economic Council of Palm Beach County and Dr. Merylynn Carson, Physician, CEO and Founder of Myriddian Healthcare, to its board of directors.


Michele Jacobs

As President & CEO, Jacobs leads the strategy, political efforts, lobbying, grassroots initiatives, policy development, and overall operations of the Economic Council. She is the face of the organization and represents members’ interests on various issues, participating in the legislative process locally and collaborating with the public sector to promote business prosperity throughout Palm Beach County. Michele Jacobs has been recognized for her work in Palm Beach County, receiving the Gaeta Leadership Award from the Palm Beach North Chamber of Commerce, being honored as an Angel by Kid Sanctuary, and receiving the Leadership Award from the Education Foundation.


Dr. Merylynn Carson

Dr. Carson is a proven thought leader in healthcare and population health management. She is an expert in healthcare communications, training, and risk mitigation and provides services nationally to federal, state, and local agencies as well as many private sector organizations. Myriddian Healthcare will be facilitating a pilot project in Coleman Park focused on their ASCEND model: Advancing Strong Communities, Equity, and Empowerment for Development.


The appointment of Jacobs and Carson to RISE's board comes as the organization is undergoing a transition to identify and address the community needs of the Coleman Park area in West Palm Beach.

Founded in 2021, Northend has engaged with local neighborhoods to identify the needs of long-term residents, individuals, and families with pressing housing, education, employment, and health concerns.
