RISE stands for Respect plus Integrity plus Strength equals Equity.
In 2021, Northend RISE engaged more than 600 neighborhood residents to identify the needs of long-term residents, individuals, and families with pressing housing, education, employment, and health concerns.
Our work which began in the Northend neighborhoods of West Palm Beach and it has now expanded to the neighborhoods of Coleman Park and Pleasant City.
2021 Community Impact
Some highlights from the 2021 RISE Impact Report
Mixed-Income Housing

25 households received urgent home renovations or repairs through a partnership with Habitat for Humanity and Community Partners of South Florida.

Four homes or vacant lots are being renovated by Northend RISE partners for purchase by area residents.

Five families have become first-time homebuyers, purchasing their first home in the RISE community.
Cradle-to-Career Education

Last August Northend RISE hosted its 3rd Back to School Bash. 2,500 backpacks filled with high-quality schools supplies were provided to neighborhoods students.

40 residents received job training and employment assistance through CareerSource, SOFI, and North Tech.

20 residents were placed in living-wage jobs
Health & Wellness

In partnership with Palm Beach Atlantic University, nursing and pharmacy students and faculty conducted door-to-door wellness checks and health needs surveys.

Students knocked on over 1,000 doors and interviewed 125 individuals or families.

Identified mental health, COVID-19, nutrition, diabetes, and hypertension as the most pressing needs among community residents.

330 residents have participated in five health and wellness events hosted by Northend RISE and health and wellness providers.

Northend RISE has held four vaccination events in the community.

30 residents received COVID-19 vaccinations.

In 2021, 50 residents and resident volunteers launched the first Northend RISE Community Garden (adjacent to the RISE offices)
